Converting cutting speed into spindle speed
A rotating cutting edge travels one circumference per revolution. Dividing the supplied surface speed by that circumference gives theoretical RPM. A 10 mm diameter at 100 m/min gives about 3,183 RPM.
Milling feed multiplies chip load by RPM and effective tooth count. Turning feed uses feed per revolution. Enter an actual RPM to recalculate both surface speed and feed. Machine limits show a comparison without changing your inputs.
