Choose a riser count before rounding field marks
Divide the total floor-to-floor rise by the number of risers to get an equal rise. When the upper landing replaces the last tread, fourteen risers have thirteen treads. At 250 mm per tread, those thirteen treads need 3250 mm of run.
Step pitch uses one rise and one tread run. The diagonal between the overall endpoints has different reference points. Neither result includes stringer end cuts or support details.
The candidate list compares only the maximum rise and minimum tread you enter. It does not determine code compliance. Repeating a rounded field fraction can accumulate a noticeable error, shown separately from the exact layout.
