The information stored with a photo
Images can contain camera settings, dates, coordinates, copyright text and editing software names. EXIF, IPTC and XMP are common metadata groups. Capture timestamps often omit a time zone, so an unzoned time is displayed as recorded.
Inspect before sharing
This viewer reads supported tags locally. Coordinates are displayed as numbers; no map or location lookup is loaded. Metadata text is shown as text, including anything that resembles HTML.
Cleaning creates a fresh pixel-based JPEG or PNG and reparses those exported bytes. The report describes the supported tags it found. It cannot detect every proprietary format or hidden signal, and it does not remove private information visible in the picture.
Metadata parsing uses ExifReader, distributed under MPL-2.0. Download its unmodified source archive or read the third-party notices.
