Smaller image files
Image size depends on its dimensions, format and detail. JPEG works well for photographs. PNG keeps transparency and sharp edges but can be larger. WebP often combines a small file with transparency.
Choose the size your upload needs
A smaller pixel count often saves more than a quality change. This tool never enlarges the original. For JPEG and WebP targets, it checks several encodes and keeps a measured result. If the target cannot be met, you can choose a smaller output before trying again.
Keep the original for editing. Canvas exports re-encode the image and can change color profiles and remove camera metadata. PNG’s quality setting is not a compression control. Files are processed in your browser.
